Fitness Classes

Our functional conditioning group fitness classes are focused on no-frills, circuit-based workouts. You’ll use kettlebells, ropes, sandbags, medicine balls, tyres, and most importantly your own body weight to improve your strength and endurance.   They’re fun, challenging and a great workout! Our instructors provide modifications to make our sessions challenging for everyone from first-timer to elite athlete.

Smash

Suitable for all fitness levels

SMASH focuses on building strength and cardiovascular fitness using bodyweight exercises, weights, and resistance training. Some rest stops along the way. 55 mins.

Dash

Suitable for all fitness levels

A shorter class for you to hit it and quit it. Give it all you’ve got in this half hour of power to get the heart pumping! A mix of strength and cardio. Limited rest stops. 30 mins.

Lil Wreckers

Suitable for 5 – 10 year olds

A 40 min fun-filled session for the kids. A combination of fitness exercises, games and boxing skills that will keep your young ones engaged and active.

Counterpunch

Parkinson’s

A high-intensity non-contact boxing class designed for people living with Parkinson’s to improve posture, balance, gait, size and speed of movement, strength, agility and flexibility. Delivered by accredited coaches. 50 mins.

Boxing Classes

We are the home of Cameron Todd Boxing, led by Olympic Coach Cam Todd. His string of amateur fighters, including Olympian Alexis Pritchard, train with us. Cam oversees all things Boxing at Wreck Room, so whether you’re aiming for your first fight or just looking for a dynamic, engaging non-contact workout, you can be sure your boxing training is grounded in the real thing.  Our boxing classes consist of a mix of shadow boxing, bag work, skipping, running and more.  Want to take it to the next level? Beginners

New to boxing? Learn the basics from Cam, our Olympic Boxing Coach or Alexis, our boxing Olympian. Build a solid foundation in basic punching and footwork so you can get the most out of our boxing fitness classes. 45 mins.

Boxing

Suitable for all levels

A non-contact boxing fitness class. Boxing training exercises are mixed with cardio and strength drills so you can practice your boxing skills and get a great workout at the same time. 45 mins.

Boxing 30

Suitable for all levels

A shorter version of our non-contact boxing classes for those limited on time but looking for an intense workout. Lots of cardio boxing drills and minimal rests. 30 mins.

Boxing Purist

Intermediate to Advanced

Purist I: A focus on boxing technique using drills & footwork exercises. Ideal for those looking to sharpen their skills. 45 mins.

Purist II: A member only full contact technical sparring class. Talk to Cam or Lex about joining this advanced class. 45 mins.

What should I bring to class?

For all boxing classes please bring your own gloves (contact us if you’re new), handwraps, a towel for sweat and mat/ab work, and a water bottle. If purchasing gloves, we recommend the Sting Armaplus for a good glove at a great price or the Sting Orion for a great long lasting leather glove. Both available at Sting Sports. Coach Cam’s glove sizing guide: mens 14/16oz, ladies 12/14oz, 10-14 yrs 10/12oz, 7-10 yrs 8/10oz and under 7 yrs use kids gloves.

Casual entry is $22.50 a class or buy a 10 trip concession for $180. Little Wrecker (5-10 years old) classes are $10. Corporate or group rates are also available. Or why not come and try us out with our Two-For-One deal. Subscription Plans

Our packages all come with unlimited access to our fitness classes and non-contact boxing classes. Our 12 month subscription also includes 2 complimentary one-on-ones with your choice of trainer.

One-on-one Packages

We have the right coach for you. Choose from Cam Todd, the NZ National Coach at the Atlanta and London Olympics, Alexis our Olympian boxer or one of our qualified instructors. All of our packages include one month of unlimited fitness classes and unlimited boxing classes. Get fit, lose weight or learn to box, the choice is yours!

The Team

From Olympic athletes and coaches to experienced strength & conditioning trainers, our instructors know how to get the best out of you and your body. They come from diverse backgrounds but are united in their passion and straightforward approach to helping you develop your skills, strength, and fitness. They know how to motivate, challenge, and support you. All our instructors are also available for personal one-on-one sessions.

Cam is one of the leading coaches in New Zealand; his coaching career has spanned over thirty years, producing more than 70 national champions, numerous Oceania champions, three Olympians (including Alexis Pritchard and David Tua) and is currently the NZ National Womens Coach. He’s also the real brains behind the Wreck Room (ed note: disputed). Cam is the only boxing coach in Australasia with 3-star AIBA certification. Beyond his obvious technical knowledge, Cam’s coaching ability is defined by his skill in reading people and assessing their strengths and weaknesses.

Lex stumbled upon boxing relatively late in life at the age of 19; fast forward nearly a decade and she was taking home the first Olympic boxing bout win for NZ in sixteen years. She came out of a short retirement in 2017 to win Bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She’s a director at Rebuild with Lex and acts as our in-house physio at Wreck Room. Her passion for being active is rooted in the fact that it makes her feel great about herself, and she wants to help others find that feeling for themselves.
